Why Index Strategies?

There is a great body of literature and books on investing in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), aiming to help readers invest in thousands of ETF products wisely. They largely focus on the end product – ETF, covering a wide range of topics such as how an ETF unit is created and traded, what are the different types of ETFs, what is the trend of ETFs, and how to analyze each and every ETF to help readers sort things out in the ETF jungle.

However, I do not find many books explaining the design, construction, and maintenance of indexes, which are the backbone of most ETFs, and therefore, ought to be the most important thing for investors to learn to allow them to make better decisions. This book intends to bridge this gap by providing common practices in the ETF industry as well as deep diving into multiple types of ETF and their underlying Index strategies.
