Daily Thoughts: Where the Joy is from

Growing older, I realize what once filled me with joy has waned, instead I gain more and more joy from learning high math and advanced physics and applying in practice.

One such field is quantum field theory, which is a theoretical framework that describes the interactions between particles in the universe. It is a beautiful and complex subject that can provide a deep understanding of how the universe was created and how it operates. The elegance and simplicity of the underlying mathematical principles behind quantum field theory are truly awe-inspiring.

When we age, our physicality is irresistible weakened, but our minds often become more connected, focused and able to comprehend and solve complex problems. This increased mental clarity really makes my intellectual pursuits more enjoyable. Being able to oscillate on the same wavelength with giants like Einstein and Euler is immeasurable satisfaction.

Richard Feynman said, “To those who do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a real feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty, of nature. if you want to learn about nature, it is necessary to understand the language that she speaks in”, which I agree and relish.
